"Bad Mom" Moment

So Leighton got her first call to Poison Control.  I was getting ready for the day, looked over, and she was happy playing with a lid. Great. 5 seconds later she starts gagging and throwing up. I ran over to help her, and she is puking so hard that it's coming out her nose and her eyes are tearing up. While I'm trying to get her cleaned up I look down and realized she was playing with my deodorant lid. Then it hit me. There must have been some left on the lid (sick), and she must have ate some (disgusting). It kind of made me want to start gagging too. I felt soooo awful. Why didn't I realize that she shouldn't play with that?! Definitely not my proudest moment as a mom. That's when I started looking up the number for Poison Control.

Ooooh poor girl. The good news Rach is that we all have BAD MOM MOMENTS, Your not alone at all. There is soo muh to keep track of w/ lil' ones, you can't win em' all . to make you feel better..I locked TAY in the JEEP while it was running a few months back. NO GOOD. Thank goodness for fast police men. Have a good day and know that you are a FABULOUS mom no matter what little moments come up :)

Don't worry about it. You'll probably have to call posion control again. I've had to call twice with Lydia. She ate a lot of toothpaste one time. Things just happen. She is still really cute.

Oh man! That is ouchy....and poison control before she's even 1??? Watch out Rach, you might have a mischievious little girl...join the club. Today, I looked over and Taya was on TOP of the counter, emptied my entire spice cabinet and politely dumped the entire container of salt on the floor.....bad days, I hear ya!

That is so sad....but kind of a cute story too. I'm pretty sure that everyone has a few bad mom moments in their life time. I know I have already and it's only been a year! By the way; I really have had your pictures done for quite a while now. But I learned that I needed to buy a program to calibrate the color on my computer. If not you could go to print them and the coloring could look terrible. Anyhoo....it should be here any day then I will send them off to ya.

I am so sorry. That is scary! I always let preston play with my stuff. I guess it is time he gave up his play habit.

That is so sad.... I would never think that just a little taste of deodorant would make her sick. (I have a friend who's kid eats the stuff and also eats lotion) You are such a good mom, so don't feel to bad. I have had to call them once for Elizabeth. She somehow got a child proof lid off of the children Tylenol and drank some of it. I didn't know how full it was, and didn't know how much she drank, and I was sooooooooo scared. They laughed at me and told me she would be fine.

Um...i thought it would be a good idea to let truman ride in his stroller while I sat on the back of the golf cart and pulled it behind. Two seconds into the joy ride, the stroller fish-tailed and dumped him out onto his head. Did I mention we were going about 5 MPH??? IDIOT parents. I still haven't blogged about it because I am afraid CPS will track me down... :)
