Our little Leighton is no longer a baby.... we now have a TWO YEAR OLD! The "Tiny & Two" party consisted of friends, family, swimming in the backyard, and all "tiny" foods. Leighton had such a fun time, and we were so happy that everyone could come! This little girl brings me happiness every single day. I am so grateful that two years after her birth, she is still strong, healthy, and the center of my world.

Leighton has the sweetest spirit and the strongest will.

She has a funny sense of humor and yet a very tender heart.

Loves to be chased and run, but loves being caught and tickled just as much.

Has such as little voice, and such a loud giggle.e

She has the most innocent face, and yet a very real "fake cry" :)

She still has a very tiny body, but her personality/attitude makes up for it.

And I love every bit of her.

We took Leighton to the zoo for Mother's Day, and she was in love. We may need to get a season pass for the summer. She was very cautious about the petting zoo. . . but maybe thats because the goat was trying to eat her shirt :)

This fabulous girl is my sister Emily. Yeah... she's beautiful. She was in Rigby's Jr Miss this weekend and did amazing! I am so proud of her. She won Interview, Scholastic, Spirit of JM and 3rd runner up!! I can't say enough good things about her. She truly is a gorgeous girl inside and out. Love ya.

Gorgeous girl #2 wishes she could have gone to Jr. Miss. She has been watching Emily practice for months, and she can copy her every move. Lei loves to be outside and play with balls, but the minute her hands get dirty the fun is over. She is a true girly-girl at heart.

Dear Weather,

This sunny one day and snowing the next is really messing us up. Leighton can't quite understand why one we can go outside and play for awhile, and the next day it is "too cold" to be out for very long. What's a girl to do?? She is in love with being outside. (and learning to throw mini-tantrums when she can't) We're tired of being indoors. Please let spring come soon. Please.

went to see all the lights at Temple Square. It was beautiful (and freezing), but one of my favorite things to do.

bundled up Lei for the cold, but she loved all the lights and people...

were lucky enough to get tickets to the First Presidency's Christmas Devotional! It was amazing. I could listen to the choir sing christmas musice all year round...

have been shopping shopping (this day at Gateway)... How cute is she??

went to Arizona for Thanksgiving, and Leighton was thrilled to be carried, played with, and lead around by all of her cousins. They were so cute together. We had a blast with family and the warm weather ...

Leighton's funniest habit right now is that she is crazy about the "Lagoon" commercial!! Whenever it comes on she'll stop whatever she's doing to watch! She's never interested in the tv... but no matter what she's doing she'll turn around and stop just for the length of the commercial! Even if we're in the other room.. if she hears the music.. she'll look around for it! (And yes... it comes on a LOT durning the summer!!) LOVE IT.
Hair is finally growing :) Can scrape together a tiny pony on top of her head!
She's wearing size 6 months in clothes.. and a size 3 diaper

She is the most amazing thing in my life. Leighton Bo has come soooo far over the past year and has truly been our miracle. When she was born at just 2 lbs 7 oz... people would comment on how she would be big and healthy in the years to come. That is what I have prayed for.. and that is where we are now.

We had a great time in California as well!! We hit up Universal Studios, a parade, lots of good food, shopping, and dat at the beach!! The water was freezing, but Davis and Ali still went out with their boogie boards. Everyone else enjoyed watching them and worshiping the sun. Leighton loved watching all the people, the waves, and the annoying birds :)

We were able to visit my Grandpa's ranch in Arizona for a few days, and we had a blast! We rode the four-wheelers every single day, and Leighton seemed to like it! (It's her first time.) It was a lot of fun to see everyone and be back on the ranch. I haven't been in a long time. Our time was filled up with riding trails, cook-outs, story-telling, family, and the most beautiful star-filled skies. Who could ask for more?

A couple weekends ago in Idaho the whole family went golfing, and yes... the whole family! It was so much fun. It was a little chilly, but sunny for the most part. Leighton was a little unsure about the golf carts at first, but she loved watching and being outside. Luckily it wasn't too busy of a day. I'm sure everyone else thought we were crazy, but it was a blast!

A couple weekends ago we went to Vegas, and Leighton loved the pool! She loves to splash and play in the water. I usually like to watch all the different people, but it was even more fun to watch Leighton watch people. (Did that make sense?) She was mesmerized by all the lights and little kids.

We had a fun little Easter! I am mad because I didn't get any good pics of Leighton in her Easter dress, but I'm sure she'll be wearing it again anyways. We had an Easter egg hunt with cousins, and Leighton loved it. She played with her eggs, but was laughing at all the little kids running around looking for more. She didn't even notice the ears she was wearing! She wore them all day without ripping them off.

So Leighton got her first call to Poison Control. I was getting ready for the day, looked over, and she was happy playing with a lid. Great. 5 seconds later she starts gagging and throwing up. I ran over to help her, and she is puking so hard that it's coming out her nose and her eyes are tearing up. While I'm trying to get her cleaned up I look down and realized she was playing with my deodorant lid. Then it hit me. There must have been some left on the lid (sick), and she must have ate some (disgusting). It kind of made me want to start gagging too. I felt soooo awful. Why didn't I realize that she shouldn't play with that?! Definitely not my proudest moment as a mom. That's when I started looking up the number for Poison Control.

My baby is 9 months old!! It seems like she has been in our family forever... but at the same time I can't believe it's already been nine months! Here are a few 9 month facts:

Leighton LOVES LOVES LOVES to be outside. We sit in the backyard, go on walks, and hang out by the pool non-stop! She is so happy to just sit and watch the scenery!
We don't have "exact" measurements this month... but I'm guessing she is around 14 lbs and 25ish inches!? Either way, she is still wearing 0-3 month clothes!
No teeth... but chewing and slobbering on everything
She has an adorable smile and laugh. She babbles a lot. Says "dada" and has said "mama" a couple times.
Sits on own... Rolls back and forth... Scoots on back
Hair is finally starting to grow!!! Color is yet to be determined... Reddish tint in the sun!?
Always wants to stay naked! She throws a royal fit when it's time to put her diaper back on or get dressed
Usually gets up about once during the night. Slept 100% through the night about 3 times. Dang it.
Leila loves: singing, dancing, tickling, books that play music, Elmo doll, necklaces, bracelets, mirrors, cell phones, ect. Pretty much anything that sings, talks, is shiny, or reflects
So far she HATES HATES baby food. I don't think this will change. We've tried ever trick and every flavor. She will eat some grown-up foods: bananas, potatoes, bread, tortillas, and thanks to her grandmas & grandpas she loves pepsi & coke. Anything else we pretty much have to trick her into opening her mouth and sneak in the healthy stuff. (That lasts for about 8 bites!)
Best of all she loves her mom and dad!! Leighton adores her grammies, grandpas, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Any familiar face puts a huge smile on hers!

We went to Idaho for the last week and loved every second of it. It was so much fun (and always is) to hang out with family and friends. These are just a bunch of random pictures from the trip. Leighton got some new toys, of course, and is already getting bored with some of them, of course again!! I swear she is teething, but can't even feel a bump on her gums. She is chewing and slobbering like crazy. Can't believe she is almost 9 months! (Everyone we meet thinks she is only 3 or 4 months.... I just tell them she is really advanced for her age. )

Finally, for the first time ever last night...... LEIGHTON SLEPT THROUGH THE NIGHT!!! I feel like I could do anything today... stay up forever, start a company, go back to work, finish my house, clean my house, shop shop shop, run a marathon!! We had a great Valentines Day. It was a beautiful day... and Davis brought home amazing flowers to make it even better. I love having flowers in the house. We were running late, and I was waiting for him to get home, and then he returned with the flowers in hand. Who could be mad after that? It was really sweet of him. Thanks for being so thoughtful honey :)

The other half of our day we went to the temple. Davis' cousin JD & Mandy went through the temple with their little boy Harley. It was such an amazing experience, and I'm so happy that we were able to be there. It was the perfect way to spend Feb 14th.

Leighton is darling as ever (atleast to her parents) and we still can't keep our eyes off of her. She is growing and growing. I can't believe that she is almost 8 months old!!! She's almost 11 lbs now, and it is crazy to think that just 7 months ago we thought we would never get to this point. She is the love of our lives and truly our best valentine.

So one of my New Years resolutions this year needs some help. It's more turning in to a February resolution... I want to get Leighton to sleep in her crib!! (Possibly through the night?) Yes, she has been sleeping in our bed for the last four months, and it needs to stop! Have I already ruined our chances? With all of our moving around and traveling it just became a habit. I actually found it really convenient to have her by me all through the night... for awhile. Now our "co-sleeping" arrangement isn't so helpful. If we go anywhere that has a smaller bed Davis ends up sleeping on the couch because he doesn't want to wake her up/ roll on her.
I know there are some strong oppinions about the pros and cons of co-sleeping, but now I would like to undo it. ANY suggestions would be appreciated! Routines, tricks, bribes, sleeping pills :), ect... I feel like I spent all this time finding the 'perfect' crib and the cutest bedding; shouldn't I get to use them?!

I love anytime that we can go up, but it was especially nice to get to stay for that long. So much better than the quick weekend trips when 2 days are wasted driving! We were able to go up to Idaho for Thanksgiving this year and had so much fun. I was so thankful that we could make the trip, and even more grateful that Leighton slept through the car ride there! It was great to hang out and spend a long weekend with my family. The food was amazing, as always, and the company was even better. They love spending time with Leighton every chance they get! (I mean, who can really resist her?) I loved it and can't wait to go back up for New Years! I really love this time of year.

"Happy Birthday" to my amazing husband. Today, December 3rd, he turns 26!! Crazy. He didn't even realize how old he is! I just wanted to say thank you so much for all you do. We have had a crazy year together, with a lot of unexpected things happen. No matter what the events were, you were always right there holding my hand. I am so happy to have you by my side. You always step up to make sure that we are taken care of. The last 2 1/2 years have been so much fun, and I can't wait to see what the future holds. Thank you for always making me laugh, setting goals with me (and breaking them!), and being such an extraordinary daddy. Love you forever.

So Leighton started off the day as a cute pumpkin! I was sooo excited for her first little Halloween. I love dressing her up. I know the picutre with the skeleton looks a little mean... but she loved it! He would talk and laugh, and his eyeballs pop out. She had the biggest smile on her face. (Even though I couldn't catch it on camera.) She really couldn't take her eyes off him! She finished off the night as our little pea pod! I loved her little face peeking out! The costume was more like a sleeping bag on her. It lasted for about 30 minutes, but it was worth it!

So we were finally able to bless our little girl on Sunday, and it was such a special day. Leighton was so calm the entire day, and she looked darling. She is the most preciuos little miracle. My mom and sisters threw a baby shower for Leighton this week, and it was so nice. We had one planned during the summer, but when she came early everything was postponed. This is the first week that I have been able to be around for one! It turned out really cute, and I know they put a lot of work into it! Thank you girls sooo much!! Logan's Farewell 8-10-08

My little brother Logan left for his mission on August 12th. He is serving in the Capetown, South Africa Mission! Right now he is in the MTC in Johannesburg?. He did a great job at his farewell, and we were so happy that we could be there with Leighton. We love Logan so much and are so proud of him. Our entire family has been so sad not having him around, but we know he is doing such a great thing. He is always the one to make us laugh. He's got the most amazing personality, and I'm sure the people in Africa will feel the same way. We love you Logan!!!

Coming Home from the Hospital

She barely fit the carseat requirements, but Leighton is finally home!!! She has been home for a couple of weeks now, and it is so nice to have her out of the hospital. We've had a lot of sleepless nights, but I couldn't be happier to stay awake. She is so beautiful and the center of our attention. We are just trying to keep her eating and growing. What a blessing it has been to have her healthy and home every second of the day.

Little Leighton has done great this week! She is off of her oxygen (keep your fingers crossed), and is doing really well without it. It's been off for 3 days now... they say that's a really good sign. She is still trying to eat on her own, and that's her last hurdle! She is able to eat on her own about 3 times a day, but she's still needing a lot of help from the feeding tube. She's getting bigger and bigger, and we can't wait to get her home. The little miss isn't quite there yet, but the end is definitely in sight!!

So we've officially been in the hospital for 4 weeks now! Leighton is hanging on strong at a whopping 3 lbs 12 oz. She is really starting to think that she is a big girl too! She's still doing great, and we're getting pretty used to the hospital set-up. I think we will need to install noises, beeping, and alarms in her room at home. That is all she ever hears! She is so used to all the comotion.. I just hope she will be able to get along ok without them when we finally get to go home!

Well our little peanut is climbing into the big girl world!! She moved out of her incubator and is now in an open crib. It seems crazy that someone so small can just be out in the open, but it is exciting to see her making progress. Leighton is now 3 lbs 8 oz!! She has officially gained an entire pound. It makes such a big difference on her little body. Everything is going great. (fingers crossed!) Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers.

Funny Faces

Leighton is becoming so much more alert when we wake her up now! She looks around making some of the funniest faces. Every time she tries to focus on something she goes cross-eyed. (Don't worry, the nurses say that's a good thing.) We could watch her make these faces all night.

Leighton loves her time with daddy. Every night they get to cuddle and take a nap together. Davis obviously loves the time too! They both get a chance to catch up on some much needed sleep. It's so sweet how she will settle right down when he's holding her. She can tell when Davis or I are close by.

"Our Little Angel"

Our little miracle, Leigthton Bolynn Snow, was born on June 29th at 2:23 AM at MckayDee Hospital in Ogden, UT. She weighed in at a whopping 2 lbs. 7 oz!!! That's right, she definitely is our little miracle. Just to give you an idea of how tiny that is; the pictures show her wearing Davis' wedding ring as her bracelet! I couldn't believe it actually fit. I think pictures make her look bigger than she actually is, but this paints a clear picture of our reality.

Her coming was definitely unexpected. Her due date was not until August 24th! I ended up developing pre-eclampsia, and things went down hill really fast. I ended up needing an emergency c-section and then our angel was born. Our lives our crazy right now; nothing like we had planned, but we couldn't imagine life without her now. All of our time is spent at this hospital holding and staring at our sweet girl.

Thank you to everyone that has had her in their prayers. We really have felt all of the love and blessings that people have been wishing upon us.
